How many pixels do I need for large poster printing?
When it comes to poster printing, the image quality is important. Image quality is usually measured in a unit called DPI (dots per inch). DPI simply refers to the number of pixels (dots) along one inch.
A good rule of thumb is to have about 200 or 300 DPI (pixels for each inch of print) as a starting point. However, keep in mind that people will be looking at posters from farther away than a standard photo, so in many cases it’s possible to skimp on pixels and still get great results (with the right printers, of course).
